It proposes a systems analysis approach to management of habitat relationships, making a convincing case for the importance of using computer-maintained databases and computer models in ecosystem management. The author provides problem-solving techniques for forest managers and decision makers, using an interdisciplinary approach unique to this book. Part of the author's innovation is his development of a specially designed relational data model for microcomputers which helps to organize habitat relationships for decision making by forest managers. He shows the reader how to set up a similar model in a database to store wildlife information for use in evaluating any given local habitat.
