Murder in the Low Country - Softcover

The setting of this novel is mythical Bronson County in the Low Country of South Carolina, that moss-hung, shrimp boating coastal area between Georgetown and Beaufort, where many of the folks, both black and white, continue to speak Gullah (an African dialect brought here by black slaves some 350 years ago). Sheriff Cat Wolfe is a very handsome nice guy who was once an all-conference defensive back at Clemson University. Following graduation, he takes over his fatheras farm, marries his high school sweetheart and they soon have two little boys. Cat truly feels that heas on top of the world. But then out of nowhere, Catas wife and two little boys were killed instantly by a drunk driver. Cat is totally devastated and extremely lonely. So, in an effort to keep himself occupied, he gets elected sheriff, rents out his farm, and tries to begin life anew. Then in walks the woman who will quickly become the new love of Catas life, the absolutely gorgeous Cindy French, who just arrived in town to become editor of their small daily newspaper. Almost immediately she and Cat fall desperately in love.
