Reseña del editor:
Showcasing 386 of history's most renowned painters and sculptors, this indispensible guide offers unique insight into the glorious mix of styles that form the Western art tradition from Botticelli to Warhol, from the Middle Ages to today. Arranged in alphabetical, rather than chronological, order by artist--so the Renaissance contrasts with cool Neoclassicism and rich Romantic portraits stand side-by-side with Impressionist or contemporary work--each page contains a short biography plus a sumptuous color illustration of the featured artist's most famous creation.
