June 12 This book contains the best designs from three existing books in the wonderful 20 to Make series: Birds, Animals and Fairies. If you don't already have these I would highly recommend this book, as it is essentially three in one for a great price. There is a wonderful range of animals and birds; each design is distinct and beautifully realised, and the pefect balance of realistic and cute. There's actually more designs than first appears, as many have both male and female versions (eg the turkeys, woodpeckers, mallards etc) or adult and baby versions (baby koala is so cute!). The designs are wonderfully laid out in full colour and you are shown each individual part that makes them up, so they're really easy to assemble. The hummingbird is especially stunning, with delicate wafer-paper wings. The fairies are a bit more complex and not particularly my style, but that's just me - I'm sure many little girls would disagree! It's great that there's a range of complexities in the book, although even the fairies are broken down into manageable steps.
