A former head of press at Polydor Records, he contributes regularly to Q, Mojo, and Blender magazines. Mark Brend is a writer and musician based in London, England. Author of American Troubadours and Strange Sounds, he writes extensively on music for publications including Record Collector, and regularly releases albums and singles on independent labels.
