Colonel Arthur Robert Kenney-Herbert (1840-1916) was a British soldier who served in the British Indian Army. He wrote regular articles for The Madras Mail and The Daily News on Indian cookery, using the pen name Wyvern. After retiring from the army in 1892 and returning to England, in 1894 he started a cookery school in London: The Common-sense Cookery Association. This, the first edition from 1881, is uncommon.
